Providence Speech & Hearing Center (PSHC.org) is seeking a Bi-Lingual Spanish-Speaking Speech Language Pathologist to work full-time at our Orange location and serve our Mission of "Enriching Life Through the Gifts of Speech and Hearing" with a passion equal to our own.
Provides accurate diagnosis, appropriate referral and active follow-up of all patients seen for speech language services.
Determines appropriate assessment and/or intervention objective, based on available information.
Plans and implements appropriate treatment plans for all patients receiving therapy services, including family education and home-based intervention.
Completes all documentation and other assigned tasks within the time frames specified.
Maintains clear, concise records of all services provided, as specified by Department and PSHC policy.
Maintains clinical contact hour at an average level consistent with Department and PSHC standards.
Maintains accurate and complete knowledge of CPT codes and ICD codes to ensure appropriate reimbursement from various payor sources.
Completes NOMS training and documents NOMS data for all patients when applicable.
Remains flexible and provides coverage as needed for patient care during times of illness or vacation for other team members.
Follows medical model and appropriate discharge planning according to PSHC and ASHA guidelines.
Develops and maintains an area of clinical specialty within the field of Speech-Language Pathology: Early Intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Craniofacial Anomalies, Voice, Dysphagia, etc.
Supervises at minimum 1 Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant or Clinical Fellow in accordance with SLPAHADB guidelines per department needs.
Has a working knowledge of Providence Family Centered Approach Model, Building Blocks of Communication™ (BBC). Provides at least one parent or professional training each year and incorporates techniques from BBC into daily therapy sessions.
Has knowledge of and is in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Department and PSHC regarding record keeping, clinical goals and protocols, patient eligibility, patient scheduling, patient discharge, and quality assurance standards maintained by the Department, PSHC, and all outside control agencies.
Provides an in-service training at least annually based on continuing education topics and recommends new program development based on innovative technology/techniques as appropriate.
Represents PSHC at meetings and presentations outside PSHC as requested by Director Therapy Services.
Assists the Site Manager or Department Lead and Director Therapy Services with other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Minimum of a Master’s Degree Communicative Disorders or equivalent.
Eligible for or currently holds a California license in Speech Pathology or has filed an approved plan for the RPE (Required Professional Experience).
Eligible for or currently holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or has filed an approved plan for the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Qualifies and will apply for staff privileges and paneling with all hospital, health maintenance organizations, preferred provider networks, and other agencies as required by the Center to execute all contractual requirements.
Current Pediatric and Adult First Aid and CPR certification.
Ability to maintain positive attitude when working under deadlines.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the impact of cultural diversity on patient outcomes and on co-worker job performance.
Conversational fluency in Spanish.
Able to lift 30 pounds and use full range of motion.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage a variety of tasks at once.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
